Do you have any good clothes your children have outgrown? The Kent Area Council PTA Clothing Bank accepts gently used clothing, shoes, coats, purses, blankets, belts, books, and new school supplies and backpacks. Just about anything a school aged child could use.

You can help the many families within the Kent School District by donating clothes to the Kent Area Council PTA Clothing Bank located at the Kent Phoenix Academy 11000 SE 264th Ave, just off of Kent-Kangley Road. The children, up to age 18, of families who are on the reduced lunch program can receive the items for free. You can pick-up a form from the
Fairwood Elementary front office to participate in the program or go to www.kacpta.org and click on program. The form must be signed by an authorized district employee to be valid. The clothing bank is open on the first and third Tuesday of every month (check the schedule for additional dates at www.kacpta.org) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Donations of NEW underwear and socks are very much needed and always greatly appreciated.

Fairwood Elementary has a large green donation bin at the school. It is located across the hall from the library. If you have a large amount of items to be donated, please call or e-mail me and I will be happy to pick them up. There is also a donation tax receipt located next to the collection bin for your records.

Volunteers are needed to help out at the clothing bank only one night a year. We need 5 people from our school, it's very rewarding to get involved. They also credit the volunteer time for students who need community service hours/culminating project.
